IRC has been working in Pakistan since 1980, managing and delivering large, complex programs to meet the needs in health, education, safeguarding, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor and disaster affected communities. With the support of the federal and provincial governments, and generous donors, the IRC is currently implementing multiple projects across the country.

Job Overview/Summary:

The Finance Intern plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes by supporting payment processing, documentation review, and compliance with IRC and donor requirements. This includes maintaining accurate financial records through daily updates to payment trackers, verifying the completeness of payment requests, and assisting in the adjustment of program and travel advances. The role also involves preparing petty cash replenishment requests in line with Integra guidelines, computing taxes in accordance with KAPRA and FBR regulations, and maintaining an organized archiving system for financial records. Additionally, the Finance Intern contributes to month-end and year-end closing activities, supports audits and compliance documentation, and participates in professional development initiatives. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding financial integrity and accountability.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Processing and checking payment requests to ensure complete documentation, and compliance with donor and IRC requirements.
  • Assisting Sr. Finance Officer in updated the daily payments in monthly tracker in Excel spreadsheet. Ensuring that all information in the spreadsheet is correct and complete.
  • To assist in checking daily payment requests are complete with all required documents as per IRC standard operating procedures.
  • Assisting Sr. Finance Officer in processing the adjusting entries against program and travel advances on regular basis
  • Assisting in preparing DynAd for petty cash replenishment requests coming from the field offices, as per the Integra guidelines.
  • Assisting in computation of Rent, supplies and services tax as per KAPRA and FBR regulations
  • Maintaining an organized manner of archiving the financial record at box folders. Ensuring that the current record is updated. Retrieving vouchers whenever required.
  • Participating in professional development activities, as needed or requested.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends or    discrepancies.
  • Assist with audits and compliance documentation
  • Perform other duties, as necessary and/or requested.

Job Requirements:

A. Education:

University degree/postgraduate with majors in Finance

B. Demonstrated skills and competencies:

·       Excellent communication and analytical skills

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

·       Flexible and a good team player

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office package (word, excel, and power point).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong, creative problem-solving skills

C. Language Skills:

  • Must be fluent in English, and Urdu languages.
