International Trade & Compliance Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and proactive International Trade & Compliance Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our global logistics, customs, trade compliance, and documentation processes. This role goes beyond basic shipment booking or dispatch tasks. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of international shipping requirements, customs documentation, coordination with couriers and brokers, compliance monitoring, and continuous process improvement to support our expanding global operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage international shipment documentation and liaise with DHL, UPS, FedEx, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners.
- Maintain and verify HS/HTS codes, product classifications, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, 3PL warehouses, tax advisors, testing labs, and regulatory bodies.
- Support international logistics operations across the US, UK, EU, and Middle East regions.
- Oversee VAT/EORI compliance, imports, returns, stock movements, and 3PL workflows for European operations.
- Monitor international trade regulations, customs, tax, and documentation requirements to ensure compliance.
- Investigate shipment holds, customs queries, clearance delays, and documentation errors, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance checklists, product compliance matrices, documentation templates, trackers, and reports.
- Coordinate ecommerce tax and logistics workflows involving platforms such as WooCommerce, Stripe Tax, VAT reporting, and external accountants or advisors.
- Track and follow up on open logistics, customs, tax, and compliance issues with relevant stakeholders until closure.
- Establish organized, repeatable processes to streamline international logistics and compliance operations.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in international logistics, import/export operations, customs, freight forwarding, 3PL, ecommerce logistics, trade compliance, or export documentation.
- Strong expertise in HS/HTS codes, Incoterms, commercial invoices, DDP/DAP shipments, duties, customs clearance, and broker coordination.
- Proven experience working with DHL, UPS, FedEx, freight forwarders, customs brokers, or export documentation teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to follow up effectively.
- Ability to create SOPs, trackers, checklists, and structured operational processes.
- Independent problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve operational issues.
- Comfortable interacting with international vendors, logistics partners, brokers, tax advisors, and service providers.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify or WooCommerce.
- Knowledge of VAT, EORI, IOSS/OSS, Stripe Tax, or ecommerce tax workflows.
- Familiarity with US, UK, or EU import/export regulations.
- Experience with product compliance, testing, certification, or regulatory documentation.
- Exposure to export operations from Pakistan is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications such as APICS, Incoterms, customs, logistics, or supply chain management are a plus.

The position offers a monthly salary range of Rs180,000 to Rs200,000. The work location is hybrid remote based in Lahore.
