ACE Money Transfer, headquartered in Manchester, UK, is a leading provider of online remittance services operating across the UK, Canada, Australia, and the European Union, including Switzerland. As part of a diverse group with interests spanning digital wallets, real estate, advertising, and software solutions, ACE offers a vibrant and growth-oriented work environment. We are currently seeking a DevOps Intern for a three-month paid internship, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in automating and optimizing software development, deployment, and infrastructure management, working closely with both development and operations teams to build a strong foundation in DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in automating build, testing, and deployment workflows by developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Learn and apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud infrastructure. Gain practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, to manage and deploy applications in containerized environments. Collaborate effectively with developers, system administrators, and cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps methodologies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless transitions across development, testing, and production environments. Implement security best practices and monitoring/logging solutions while staying informed about the latest trends and tools in the DevOps landscape.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline. Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, along with familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Foundational knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes). Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD is essential. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages including Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases. Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools is required. Strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and effective communication and teamwork abilities are critical for success in this role.
