Key Accountabilities:
- Complete product knowledge of existing IWM products before working on new developments, with an awareness of competitors and their products.
- Preparing reports on trends of specific product development. This is all very necessary before creating new concepts for development.
- Modification of current designs as per feedback of Sales, Product, Marketing, etc. This requires identifying gaps in the design, analyzing them and rectifying those gaps.
- Knowledge of strong and weak areas of particular design elements is essential here.
- Knowing and using design related softwares is the key for a contemporary Product Designer along with a good technical know-how.
- Auto Cad and IMOS are the two most important softwares for Product Designers at IWM.
- Concepts are created on 3DSMAX (or Cinema 4D) and all drawings on Auto Cad.
- Detailed drawings, Bill of Materials, Cutting Lists, and Quality Parameters are all provided by the R&D Product Designers.
- Communication and coordination with other departments is a crucial part of development.
- Product Designers are required to work with Technical, Purchase, Product, Design, Production and costing for the development of every product.
- They also work with the Commercial department for the sourcing of imported items and products.
- When a product is finished, the designers along with the Visual Merchandisers workout the layouts of every showroom to find a specific suitable place for every product.
