Located in Paragon City, Barki Road Lahore, this internship opportunity offers hands-on experience within a dynamic Mobile Core Engineering team. The role involves developing critical diagnostic applications and low-level iOS SDKs that support millions of devices worldwide. This paid internship runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is designed to lead toward a full-time job opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Mobile Core Engineering team to build and maintain mission-critical diagnostic applications and iOS SDKs.
- Develop automated device test suites that interact directly with native hardware frameworks such as Battery, Ambient Light Sensors, Camera, Biometrics, LCD, and CoreNFC.
- Translate complex functional requirements, flowcharts, and pseudo-logic into highly optimized, modular Swift and Objective-C code.
- Update and maintain internal frameworks with a focus on strict type safety, backward compatibility, and robust serialization/deserialization processes.
- Build and sustain real-time socket communication (TCP/WebSockets) between iOS devices and desktop diagnostic software.
Required Qualifications
- No prior professional experience is required; however, a strong conceptual understanding of Computer Science and iOS fundamentals is essential.
- Currently a final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Advanced knowledge of iOS fundamentals including Memory Management (ARC, retain cycles), Concurrency (GCD, async/await), and UIKit/SwiftUI View Lifecycles.
- Proficiency in Swift programming, including mastery of Protocols, Closures, Generics, and strong algorithmic thinking. A solid understanding of architectural design patterns such as MVC and MVVM is necessary.
- Experience with structured JSON parsing using Codable and familiarity with Git workflows.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Familiarity with iOS hardware and sensor frameworks like CoreNFC, CoreMotion, and AVFoundation is advantageous.
- Understanding of raw socket communication, client-server handshakes, and modular architectures using tools such as SPM and CocoaPods is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with profiling applications and debugging memory leaks using Xcode Instruments will be considered an asset.
- This internship is paid and offers a pathway to a permanent job, providing valuable industry exposure and professional growth within a leading engineering environment.
This role is ideal for candidates eager to deepen their expertise in iOS development and gain practical experience working with cutting-edge hardware and software technologies in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
