Job Description

To develop company health and safety plans and policies, and manage programs that ensure safe working conditions and to monitor health and safety, assess risk, and compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety, and labour related legislation and international best practices.



  • Develop and implement health and safety policies in accordance with the latest legislation and international standards (IFC Performance Standards, World Bank EHS Guidelines, ISO 14001) and to ensure that these policies are implemented by management and employees

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of an E&S Management System (ESMS).

  • Responsible for staff awareness and training on best HSE behaviour and practices

  • Set up and/or update and implement a monitoring system to check on compliance of set standards

  • Coordinating the activities of the HSE committees and ensuring that they carry out their mandate

  • Coordinate statutory audits and implementation of recommended actions

  • Participate and advise in new and improvement projects for compliance and best practice environmental and social standards

  • Monitor occupational incidences and hazards and report to HSE committee and Head of ESG

  • Report to senior management on implementation of the ESMS, training programs including fire safety, emergency preparedness and community engagement; and provide regular updates on ESG incidents and remedial actions

  • Work collaboratively with all departments across units in order to achieve and maintain accreditation and highest standards of care, patient and employee safety

  • Develop and implement a stakeholder and community engagement plan and act as the key liaison between stakeholders and management team
