The Women and Girls Friendly Space (WGFS) Facilitator will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of activities within the Women and Girls Friendly Space (WGFS). She will provide psychosocial support, lead structured and unstructured group activities, conduct awareness sessions, and ensure a safe, confidential, and welcoming environment for women and girls—particularly those at risk of or affected by GBV.


Responsibilities

Technical 

  • Conduct a baseline study to assess gender-based violence (GBV) risks, root causes, and harmful social and cultural norms—through informal dialogues with women, girls, men, faith leaders, and other key influencers in the target communities.
  • Carry out needs assessments, baseline surveys, and participatory mapping to identify gaps in GBV prevention and response services.
  • Identify and prioritize vulnerable communities and at-risk groups (especially women and adolescent girls) using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools.
  • Introduce the project to target communities through engagement with community elders, women leaders, youth, and faith leaders, ensuring a participatory and inclusive approach.
  • Support sector leads in identifying and prioritizing community needs related to GBV, protection, and psychosocial support, and assist in the verification of potential intervention areas.
  • Maintain close coordination with relevant government departments (e.g., Social Welfare, Women Development Department), civil society actors, and humanitarian partners operating in the project area.
  • Lead the organization of community awareness sessions, training workshops, campaigns, and public events to challenge harmful practices such as early/forced marriage, domestic violence, and discrimination against women and girls.
  • Ensure regular follow-up, documentation, and monitoring of GBV-related activities and community engagement efforts, and report gaps with proposed actionable solutions.
  • Support the planning and facilitation of donor or organizational visits to project locations.
  • Conduct community profiling and data collection to support context analysis and inform GBV programming.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of psychosocial support (PSS) initiatives and contribute to the establishment and capacity building of community-based GBV referral and support mechanisms.
  • Foster and maintain strong, respectful working relationships with team members, community partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and accountability.

    Operational

  • Preparation of weekly/monthly work plans against PMT (performance-measured time frame) by ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in the stipulated period. 

  • Maintenance of hard records that includes field visit reports, CO meeting minutes, assessment records & other relevant documentation. 

  • Ensure proper filling of forms & formats as per desired standard. 

  • Extend support to MEAL / MIS / Communications staff for gathering desired information.

  • Ensure availability of up-to-date info in MIS regularly with the consultation of MIS / M&E. 

  • Close coordination with line manager for effective implementation of project activities. 

  • CM will identify and proactively communicate any issues that might affect the project implementation and engage community support with guidance from the line manager. 

  • Must be flexible and adapt to changes quickly to the requirements of the changed situation.

    Organizational

  • Ensure compliance with IR’s policies & procedures in true spirit for effective delivery of services to communities 

  •  In-depth understanding of IR values and their demonstration in the field while working with communities. 

  • Abide by the IR zero-tolerance policy towards bribery & corruption through sensitization/empowerment of communities on coping mechanisms so that they can raise voice as & when feel inappropriate. 

  • Assist in the identification & documentation of organizational successes for showcasing IR work 

  • Focused efforts also to be made for mainstreaming of marginalized groups i.e. persons with disability and old age, minorities, women & children etc in consultation & implementation of project activities at ground. 

  • Strengthen mechanism to Influence the decision makers through communities to pay attention towards DRR planning, give voice to suffering and the excluded, highlight the protection needs of diversified groups. 

  • He should have knowledge of IR’s child safeguarding protocols and Do No Harm principle as core of IRPs proposed strategy to protect children to protect them from sexual, physical and mental exploitation.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Qualification:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in social sciences

    Experience:

  • 1 years’ experience with Master/bachelor’s degree (16 Years) and 2 year with Bachelor degree (14 Years)

    Computer Skills:

  • MS Office, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity 

    Language:

  • English, Urdu, Pashto & local languages preferred.

  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience, and able to maintain self-control in difficult situations.
  • Able to work under extreme conditions in field areas.
  • Good communication skills in local as well as English / Urdu language which delivers information with clarity in a wide range of situations.

  • Has a learning attitude and a continuous improvement philosophy.
