The Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination is seeking a highly skilled IT professional to lead the development and management of a comprehensive data repository. This role involves providing technical leadership to improve the Ministry’s efficiency in handling climate-related data, supporting policy implementation, and enhancing environmental monitoring efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Ministry’s IT infrastructure, systems, and digital solutions, ensuring seamless operation and alignment with project goals related to e-governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and lead the development process of a data repository tailored for the Ministry’s climate change and environmental coordination needs.
- Provide technical leadership to enhance data management, policy implementation, and environmental monitoring capabilities.
- Manage and maintain the Ministry’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and digital platforms.
- Oversee IT inventory management, procurement, and licensing of software and hardware assets.
- Deliver high-quality advisory and implementation support to meet project objectives, particularly those related to e-governance initiatives.
- Establish and maintain local server setups, including the creation and enforcement of network policies such as password protocols and driver management.
- Upgrade and maintain the Ministry’s website by uploading project reports, maps, promotional materials, and other relevant content.
- Activate, upgrade, and maintain e-office systems, official email accounts, and task monitoring tools as required.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by management to support the Ministry’s IT and digital goals.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in IT management and systems development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields such as BBA (Information Technology), BE Computer Systems Engineering, BE Data Science, BSc Software Engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and PHP, along with web development skills.
- Solid understanding of programming concepts, databases, and software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with networking concepts including LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Experience with MS Office Suite, antivirus solutions, and data backup strategies.
