IT Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and proactive IT Engineer specializing in systems administration and network management to join our team in Lahore, Pakistan. This full-time role involves maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing our IT infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient business operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with servers, networking equipment, and IT security, along with the ability to provide technical support and collaborate effectively with internal teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and networking hardware.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file servers to ensure proper system functionality.
- Implement and maintain IT security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery operations, and apply software updates and patches.
- Provide technical support to end-users by resolving hardware, software, and network-related problems efficiently.
- Document IT infrastructure, processes, and standard operating procedures to maintain clear records.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for system upgrades, procurement, and IT projects.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System/Network Engineer, IT Support Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, as well as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills to support users and coordinate with internal teams effectively.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or MCSA are highly desirable.
- Experience in IT project management and knowledge of ITIL best practices will be considered a plus.
