IT Executive - Web Hosting & Infrastructure

Khan Home Digital Solutions (KHD), a key part of Khan Home Group (KHG), is seeking an experienced IT Executive specializing in Web Hosting and Infrastructure. This role involves maintaining and optimizing hosting environments, application infrastructure, and databases to ensure reliable digital services across KHD and the wider Group. The position is full-time, on-site at Bahria Enclave Islamabad, with working hours from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer web hosting and Linux-based VPS environments, ensuring service availability, proper configuration, and efficient resource utilization.
- Manage domains, DNS records, SSL certificates, and hosting configurations, coordinating changes with relevant technical teams.
- Configure, operate, and troubleshoot Docker containers and Docker Compose services, including networking, persistent volumes, and environment variables.
- Support developers with application deployments, environment setups, release validations, and rollback procedures.
- Maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL databases by managing users, permissions, backups, restoration checks, and routine health monitoring.
- Write and troubleshoot SQL queries for data extraction, validation, operational reporting, and business intelligence needs.
- Manage Git repositories and GitHub workflows, including access permissions, branching, pull requests, release documentation, and deployment coordination.
- Monitor application, server, and database logs to investigate downtime, failed deployments, connectivity issues, and recurring performance problems.
- Apply security updates and maintain secure SSH access, firewall rules, database permissions, and credential handling.
- Maintain tested backup and recovery procedures for application files, container data, and databases.
- Research hosting, monitoring, and infrastructure solutions, recommending improvements based on cost, compatibility, and reliability.
- Document environments, deployment procedures, dependencies, and incidents, providing clear technical updates and hand-offs.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in web hosting, Linux systems administration, application infrastructure, or related technical support roles.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot live hosting or application environments and communicate effectively with developers, users, or clients.
- Relevant diploma, degree, or equivalent verified practical competence.
- Practical proficiency in Linux administration and VPS/web hosting management, including SSH, file permissions, services, and log analysis.
- Working experience with Docker and Docker Compose, covering container configuration, networking, and persistent storage.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL, including access management, backup, restoration, and SQL querying for BI or reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub workflows, including repository management, branching, pull requests, and access control.
- Understanding of DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, web server configuration, and network troubleshooting.
- Ability to document changes, safeguard credentials, and perform controlled deployments with recovery plans.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools.
- Scripting skills in Bash or Python for routine administration and automation.
- Familiarity with Nginx, Apache, reverse proxies, or hosting control panels.
- Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI, Metabase, Apache Superset, or Looker Studio.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or other VPS providers.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools including Uptime Kuma, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Experience supporting containerized application stacks such as Laravel, Next.js, or Java.
- Skills in database performance tuning, automated backups, and disaster recovery.
- Background in Pakistan-based agencies, BPOs, multi-client environments, or UAE/GCC support is advantageous.
