IT Executive - Web Hosting & Infrastructure

Khan Home Digital Solutions (KHD), a key part of the Khan Home Group (KHG), specializes in digital marketing, creative content, technology, and digital operations. We are looking for a dedicated IT Executive - Web Hosting & Infrastructure to manage and maintain our web hosting environments, application infrastructure, and databases. This role is vital to ensuring reliable digital services across KHD and the wider group. The position is based onsite in Islamabad, with working hours from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer Linux-based VPS and web hosting environments, ensuring high availability, proper configuration, and optimal resource utilization.
- Manage domains, DNS records, SSL certificates, and hosting settings while coordinating technical changes with relevant teams.
- Configure, operate, and troubleshoot Docker containers and Docker Compose services, including networking, persistent volumes, and environment variables.
- Support developers with application deployments, environment setups, release validations, and rollback procedures.
- Maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL databases by managing users, permissions, backups, restorations, and routine health checks.
- Develop and troubleshoot SQL queries for data extraction, validation, operational reporting, and business intelligence purposes.
- Manage Git repositories and GitHub workflows, including access control, branching, pull requests, release documentation, and deployment coordination.
- Monitor application, server, and database logs to investigate downtime, deployment failures, connectivity issues, and recurring performance problems.
- Apply security patches and maintain secure SSH access, firewall rules, database permissions, and credential management.
- Maintain tested backup and recovery processes for application files, container data, and databases.
- Research and recommend hosting, monitoring, and infrastructure improvements based on cost, compatibility, and reliability assessments.
- Document system environments, deployment procedures, dependencies, and incidents, providing clear technical updates and handover notes.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in web hosting, Linux systems administration, application infrastructure, or a related technical support role.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot live hosting or application environments and communicate effectively with developers, users, or clients.
- Relevant diploma, degree, or equivalent practical competence.
- Strong Linux administration skills, including VPS/web hosting management, SSH, file permissions, service management, and log analysis.
- Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose, including container setup, networking, and persistent storage.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and MySQL database management, including access control, backups, restoration, and SQL querying for BI or reporting.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub workflows, including repository management, branching, pull requests, and access permissions.
- Understanding of DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, web server configuration, and network troubleshooting.
- Ability to document technical changes, safeguard credentials, and perform controlled deployments with rollback plans.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools.
- Scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation and routine administration.
- Knowledge of Nginx, Apache, reverse proxies, or hosting control panels.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Metabase, Apache Superset, or Looker Studio.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or other VPS providers.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Uptime Kuma, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Experience supporting containerized application stacks like Laravel, Next.js, or Java.
- Skills in database performance tuning, automated backups, and disaster recovery.
- Background in Pakistan-based agencies, BPOs, multi-client environments, or UAE/GCC support.
