Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and support all Careem-managed IT systems, including network and systems infrastructure. Provide day-to-day operational support by managing incidents, changes, and problems, ensuring timely resolution within defined SLAs. Deploy, support, and administer IT infrastructure services such as voice and data networks, MPLS, DPLC, wireless, and multisite mesh networks. Monitor and maintain network layers 1 through 7 to deliver comprehensive end-to-end support.

Design and implement new network solutions or enhance existing network efficiency. Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, SASE gateways, firewalls, WAN accelerators, aggregators, and wireless networks. Handle escalated incidents from the IT Service Desk with daily updates and thorough troubleshooting. Manage infrastructure changes in a controlled and auditable manner, leading infrastructure projects and driving continuous improvement.

Stay current with the latest technology trends and industry best practices. Document Careem’s network infrastructure, including hardware/software inventory and network diagrams. Conduct root cause analysis and manage incidents to ensure rapid resolution while carefully evaluating solutions and associated risks. Provide 24x7 second-line support and escalation services, liaising with third-party suppliers and conducting service reviews with internal teams and vendors.

Track and resolve single points of failure within the infrastructure and assist project teams with infrastructure changes. Communicate project information effectively to leadership, deliver engaging presentations, and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Required Qualifications
A degree in Computer Science or a related field is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Network Administrator within organizations supporting 1000+ users. Strong expertise in datacenter management, unified communication suites, LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and virtualization is required.

A solid understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack, routing, switching, MPLS networks, firewalls, SASE networks, VPN technologies, and system monitoring is necessary. Experience with VMware ESX, vCenter, major virtualization platforms, Linux, VoIP telephony systems, and voice infrastructure is expected. Familiarity with IT security tools, information governance, basic application programming, database, and system design is important.

Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented and analytical approach. Relevant certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE or MCITP, AWS/Azure, Security+, and ITIL are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with next-generation firewalls, mobile device management (MDM), virtualization technologies (VMware, AWS), Active Directory, Single Sign-On (SSO), and SASE is advantageous. Knowledge of managing heterogeneous network environments and administration of platforms like Zscaler, Jump Cloud, Sonus voice gateways, Genesis call center on-prem solutions, Cisco Meraki, and Orange MPLS is a plus.
