IT Support Engineer

MCG Technologies is seeking a dedicated IT Support Engineer to join our team onsite at E-11/2, Islamabad. This role operates during night shift hours from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM and is critical to maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports our operations vertical. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth functioning, connectivity, and security of all internal hardware and software systems. By providing timely technical assistance, resolving network and system issues, and managing IT assets, you will help sustain uninterrupted service delivery and safeguard sensitive health data systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive IT support to internal employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, and network connectivity issues.
- Monitor and manage IT help desk tickets, ensuring resolution within established SLAs, proper documentation, and minimal downtime for employees.
- Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, docking stations, and other peripherals for new and existing staff.
- Handle IT equipment provisioning and recovery during employee onboarding, offboarding, and role transitions, including device configuration and access coordination.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets such as hardware, peripherals, networking equipment, software licenses, cables, and spare parts, including warranty tracking and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with hardware vendors for procurement, quotations, deliveries, repairs, replacements, warranty claims, and RMA requests.
- Perform network cable testing, termination, crimping, labeling, and troubleshooting; assist with LAN/WAN connectivity issues and basic network infrastructure maintenance.
- Install, configure, and maintain networking equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points within the scope of the role.
- Apply working knowledge of core networking concepts, protocols, and terminologies to troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure reliable network operations.
- Provide remote technical support using desktop and assistance tools; demonstrate familiarity with virtual machines, virtualization concepts, and virtual desktop environments.
- Maintain IT documentation including asset assignment records, inventory audits, vendor records, troubleshooting procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of proven experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, network protocols, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience or familiarity with IT asset management and inventory control procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment during night shift hours.
