IT Support Officer

We are seeking a skilled IT professional to manage and maintain our organization's server and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and availability of Windows and Linux servers, as well as managing network devices and connectivity. This role involves hands-on administration of virtualization platforms, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and infrastructure security. The successful candidate will also monitor system health, prepare detailed reports, and maintain comprehensive documentation to support business continuity and IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage Windows and Linux server environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure reliable operation.
- Monitor server performance, capacity, and availability, proactively addressing any issues to maintain optimal service levels.
- Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V, ensuring efficient resource utilization and uptime.
- Implement server hardening, patch management, and adhere to security best practices to protect organizational assets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related incidents and performance problems promptly.
- Oversee LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity, ensuring seamless network operations.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to support secure and efficient data flow.
- Monitor network performance and implement network security policies and access controls to safeguard infrastructure.
- Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for connectivity and infrastructure support, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Configure, integrate, and manage network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, NPM, NMS, MRTG, and PRTG.
- Manage Cisco, Huawei, Ruijie, and TP-Link switches and access points, including performing regular backups.
- Administer enterprise backup solutions, including installation and management of Veeam for Office 365.
- Maintain offsite backups on FTP sites and ensure successful backup and restoration of critical business systems.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning through regular backup verification and recovery drills.
- Monitor backup storage utilization and enforce retention policies.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with organizational security policies and support vulnerability assessments and remediation.
- Support endpoint security measures, including antivirus and system monitoring solutions.
- Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, asset inventories, and configuration records.
- Monitor overall infrastructure health using enterprise monitoring tools and prepare reports on system availability, incidents, capacity, backups, and security.
- Maintain and update documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (BCS/MCS preferred).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or IT support roles.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Administration, and Windows Server support.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, firewalls, and backup solutions such as Veeam, VPN, and Cisco networking.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, printers, scanners, IP phones, and end-user IT support.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
