Japanese Language Instructors (Onsite)

This is a contract-based opportunity for language instructors to join a NAVTTC-supported training program for a duration of three months. The role requires delivering engaging and practical language instruction to students in a structured classroom setting. Classes will be conducted five days a week, with each session lasting approximately 3.5 hours. The ideal candidate will have strong language proficiency, effective teaching skills, and the ability to foster an interactive and inclusive learning environment. Compensation is competitive and aligned with market standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver Japanese language classes following the approved curriculum and training schedule.
- Conduct classes five days per week, approximately 3.5 hours daily.
- Develop and present engaging lessons that cover speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar.
- Promote practical communication and conversational skills among students.
- Prepare lesson plans, classroom activities, exercises, and assessments.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, progress, and learning outcomes.
- Administer quizzes, assignments, and other evaluations as required.
- Maintain accurate academic and training documentation in compliance with ShellShift and NAVTTC guidelines.
- Provide additional support and guidance to students needing extra assistance.
- Maintain professional classroom discipline and create an inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Coordinate with ShellShift’s academic and project management teams regarding student progress and program requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) or Japanese language.
- Relevant language certification, diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching Chinese or Japanese is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to teach students at beginner and/or intermediate levels.
- Capability to deliver structured and interactive classroom-based training.
- Commitment to completing the full three-month project duration.
