Job Summary
The Surveyor Helper provides on-site assistance to the survey team by supporting land surveying activities, handling equipment, and maintaining accurate field records. This role is essential for ensuring smooth survey operations at construction and development sites.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Land Surveyor in taking accurate site measurements
Set up, handle, and maintain survey equipment such as Total Station, Auto Level, GPS, and measuring tools
Place survey markers, pegs, and reference points on site
Record field data and maintain survey notes and logs
Assist in reading and following survey drawings, maps, and layouts
Ensure compliance with site safety rules and procedures
Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of survey instruments
Carry out tasks as assigned by the Surveyor or Site Engineer
Minimum education: Matric (DAE Civil preferred but not mandatory)
Basic knowledge of surveying or construction site work
Physically fit and able to work outdoors
Basic understanding of measurements and calculations
Ability to work in a team and follow instructions
