Overview:

Jhpiego is an international non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University, USA. For more than 40 years and in over 150 countries, Jhpiego has worked to prevent the needless deaths of women and their families. Jhpiego is dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries. In Pakistan Jhpiego will be working with guidance and support from  Global USAID funded Maternal and Child Health Survival Program, on “ Accelerating Family Planning in Pakistan” (AFPP) to quickly accelerate the achievement of Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) objectives in Pakistan . This is a two-year project and will be working in three provinces of Pakistan- Sindh, Punjab, and Baluchistan.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive official vehicle for field activities whenever and wherever required in assigned or any other district.
  • Strictly observing traffic rules, regulations and laid down speed limits by Jhpiego’s transport section. Demonstrating exemplary driving practice.
  • Log all trips, daily mileage, and petrol consumption and keep the logbook up-to-date.
  • Receive/ drop assigned staff / team from designated areas and then drive them to respective operational areas where activities are going on.
  • Check the electrical/ mechanical condition of assigned vehicle on daily basis, undertake minor repairs and report immediately the major repairs/ fault to District Coordinator for further repair / maintenance from recognized vendor (s).
  • Wash & clean his vehicle on daily/periodic bases and ensure timely servicing of the vehicle as and when necessary.
  • Promptly report accidents involving the assigned vehicle in accordance with Jhpiego’s policy on this subject and as per local traffic laws.
  • Take responsibility for fueling/ refueling of the assigned vehicle as per laid down procedures/ policies/ rules etc.
  • Assists field teams in other required support in trainings, events and other activities perform any other task assigned by Provincial Program Manager.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and security rules during the drive.
  • Maintain & follow proper and tidy  dress code

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Matriculate / Intermediate / High School education from a recognized institute / board,
  • Minimum of 5 year’s driving experience with an International NGO / UN Agency and/or Donor Organization, preference will be given to those who will be having Medical Mobile Support Unit experience.
  • A valid HTV/ LTV lenience with a clean driving record with no accident report.
  • Ability to read and speak Urdu & preferably local languages, knowledge of English language will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to maintain log book & other vehicle related documents.
  • Must bear good moral & character values.

By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan. Complaints are handled with complete confidentiality and individuals are encouraged to report when corruption, fraud, waste or abuse may exit in the USAID/Pakistan projects.
