- Build data accumulation systems for cost accounting.
- Identification of BOM of different products.
- Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
- Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs.
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required.
- Build system to provide standard as well as lot-wise costing of products.
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
- Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
- Revise the reserve for obsolete inventory as needed.
- Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories.
- Report on margins by product and division.
- Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.
- Analyze capital budgeting requests.
- Administration of costing data.
- Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
- Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.
