Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Chemist to join our environmental laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing chemical and physical analyses of environmental samples, strictly following established protocols and standards. This role demands hands-on operation and routine maintenance of various laboratory instruments, precise documentation of test results, and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough chemical and physical analyses of samples in line with established environmental laboratory protocols and standards. You will operate and maintain essential laboratory instruments, including spectrophotometers, atomic absorption spectrometers (AAS), and titrators, ensuring their optimal performance.
Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, and standards required for various analytical procedures with accuracy and care. It is critical to document and report all test results promptly and in an organized manner, maintaining high standards of accuracy and detail.
Ensure strict compliance with all laboratory safety guidelines and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods aimed at enhancing testing capabilities and laboratory efficiency.
Support the preparation of technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders, communicating findings clearly and professionally. Actively participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to uphold the accuracy and reliability of all test results.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, including proper care of equipment and materials. Collaborate effectively with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise, fostering a productive and cooperative workplace.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field. A minimum of one year of experience working as a Chemist, preferably within an environmental or analytical laboratory setting, is essential.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, AAS, and titrators is required. Strong knowledge of chemical preparation techniques and analytical procedures is necessary to perform the role effectively.
Excellent documentation skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy are critical. Candidates must have a solid understanding of laboratory safety protocols and environmental regulations.
The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team is essential for success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience in developing and validating new analytical methods will be considered an advantage. Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance processes within a laboratory environment is also preferred.
This is a full-time, in-person position offering a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs40,000 to Rs50,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
