Job Summary

The Regional Education Manager (REM) plays a pivotal role in driving the delivery of high-quality education across multiple schools by building and leading high-performance teams at both the Area and School levels. This position ensures the effective implementation of educational programs and interventions, closely monitors performance and outcomes, and guarantees compliance with established policies and procedures. The REM is an active member of Leadership Teams, identifying educational challenges and proposing practical solutions while nurturing a culture of care, growth, transparency, and open communication throughout the organization. The role requires frequent travel to support these objectives and maintain close engagement with schools and communities.

Key Responsibilities

The REM mentors and motivates Area Teams to boost productivity and engagement, fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes growth and transparent communication. They oversee the delivery of quality education by implementing and monitoring educational inputs and tracking student learning outcomes rigorously.

This role involves designing and executing plans for educational interventions and methodologies aligned with organizational goals. The REM defines assessment approaches and regularly shares progress and impact reports with peers and head office teams. They collaborate with Area Teams to develop and implement strategies for student enrollment and retention.

To ensure policy adherence and continuous improvement, the REM conducts school visits, classroom observations, and staff meetings, providing constructive feedback and support. They lead Training Needs Analysis (TNA) using multi-source data, adapting and developing instructional materials to meet specific school needs.

The REM ensures transparency and quality in both internal and external school evaluations and student assessments, developing remedial action plans when necessary. They support Area Teams in recruiting and retaining qualified school staff, actively participating in staff appraisals and contributing to decisions on promotions and terminations.

Analyzing educational interventions, resources, student results, and teacher performance is critical to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. The REM engages communities through Area Teams to promote effective school management and community development programs.

Coordination with functional departments is essential to develop regional and area implementation plans, provide feedback on interventions, ensure timely provision of materials and supplies, and optimize resource utilization. The REM manages the Management Information System (MIS) for education-related indicators, maintaining accurate records and databases on student and program activities.

Building and maintaining relationships with Education Officials at the district level is a key responsibility, facilitating conflict resolution and resource mobilization. The REM also coordinates with external evaluators to ensure timely data collection, documentation, and reporting.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree from a reputable institution and have 8-10 years of experience in education, encompassing curriculum development, training, assessment, leadership roles, and project management. Strong leadership skills are essential, with the ability to build cohesive teams, resolve conflicts, and foster strong relationships.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with a solid understanding of policy, planning, and strategic implementation. Proven ability to build alliances and partnerships, proficiency in data management and analytics, and strong creativity and problem-solving skills are also necessary.
