Job Summary
Soft Nation Technologies is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join its Data & Analytics team at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal office in Karachi. This full-time role is designed for candidates with 6 months to 1 year of experience who are enthusiastic about applying their skills in data analysis, research, and programming within a fast-paced and innovative environment. The successful candidate will work closely with data to extract meaningful insights, automate processes, and support strategic decision-making using advanced analytical methods.

Key Responsibilities
The Junior Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and executing SQL queries to efficiently retrieve and manipulate data from relational databases. Proficiency in Python is essential, particularly for web scraping tasks using libraries such as Selenium and BeautifulSoup (BS4), to collect data from various online sources. The role also requires applying intermediate Excel skills, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP, to analyze and organize datasets effectively.

In addition to data extraction and manipulation, the candidate will conduct research analysis using appropriate methodologies to interpret data and generate actionable insights. Basic Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques will be applied to process and analyze textual data, enhancing the understanding of unstructured information. Furthermore, the role involves integrating OpenAI API into existing workflows to improve data analysis capabilities and automate routine tasks, thereby increasing efficiency.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Excel, with a strong command of advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP. Experience in writing SQL queries and working with relational database systems is essential. Proficiency in Python programming, especially for web scraping using Selenium and BeautifulSoup, is required. A foundational understanding of NLP concepts and their practical applications is necessary to handle textual data effectively.

Strong research and analytical skills are critical to support data-driven decision-making processes. Additionally, familiarity with OpenAI API integration for data analysis and automation will be highly beneficial in this role.
