Job Summary

We are looking for a committed finance professional to join our team and oversee comprehensive financial operations while ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in managing financial reporting, cash flow, and operational oversight. The successful candidate will work closely with both finance and store teams, fostering collaboration to support the organization’s overall success and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate financial statements that adhere strictly to accounting standards and regulatory guidelines. You will manage cash flow by supervising receivables, payables, and treasury functions to maintain liquidity and mitigate financial risks effectively. Collaborating with banking institutions will be essential to develop and implement financing strategies and manage banking operations.

Lead the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed analytical reviews. Review the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers to ensure all transactions are correctly classified and recorded. You will also coordinate accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring invoices are handled efficiently and collections are timely.

Generate comprehensive financial reports and conduct variance analyses to provide strategic insights and recommendations to management. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax return preparation in collaboration with external tax advisors. Support internal and external audits by preparing thorough documentation and implementing audit recommendations.

Stay informed about changes in accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends, proposing process improvements where applicable. Oversee all financial operations within the organization to promote fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency. Mentor and develop junior accounting staff to enhance their skills and professional growth.

Manage store operations, including inventory control and optimization, and provide timely operational reports to senior management on a weekly and monthly basis. Motivate finance and store teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Offer technical expertise in negotiating contracts with vendors and stakeholders to secure favorable terms.

Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Conduct detailed intercompany reconciliations at month-end to ensure financial accuracy. Act as a liaison with external auditors, facilitating effective communication with the head office. Ensure timely compliance with government obligations and promptly report any potential risks to management.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or audit roles is required. Strong knowledge of financial regulations, reporting standards, and taxation is essential. Proficiency in ERP systems, financial modeling, and risk management is expected. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
