Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Area Sales Manager to oversee the operations of multiple retail bakery outlets. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in retail management, sales growth, and team leadership, preferably within the bakery, food retail, or FMCG industries. This role demands a hands-on leader who can ensure operational excellence, consistently meet revenue targets, and maintain high standards across all assigned locations.
Key Responsibilities
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising daily sales activities across several bakery retail outlets. Driving sales performance to achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals is a critical part of this role. The manager will recruit, train, and lead outlet staff and supervisors, ensuring that service quality and operational standards are consistently upheld.
Inventory management is another key responsibility, including monitoring stock levels, analyzing demand patterns, minimizing wastage, and optimizing stock ordering to enhance store performance. The manager will regularly analyze sales reports and develop strategies to improve the performance of underperforming branches.
Maintaining consistent brand representation is essential, which involves ensuring attractive product displays and strict adherence to hygiene standards at all outlets. The role requires close collaboration with production, logistics, and marketing teams to guarantee smooth operations and the success of promotional activities.
Handling customer feedback and complaints promptly is vital, alongside managing local marketing initiatives to boost store visibility and sales. Frequent field visits and audits will be conducted to ensure operational compliance and identify areas for improvement. The manager will also prepare accurate sales forecasts and deliver detailed performance reports to senior management.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in retail sales management is required, preferably within bakery chains, food retail, or FMCG brands. Strong knowledge of retail key performance indicators (KPIs), store operations, and customer service best practices is essential.
Excellent leadership skills, coupled with strong communication and people-management abilities, are necessary to succeed in this role. The candidate should be willing and able to travel frequently within the assigned territory. Familiarity with POS and inventory management systems will be considered an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While not mandatory, experience in bakery or food retail sectors will be highly valued. This position offers a competitive salary range of Rs 80,000 to Rs 120,000 per month and is a full-time, on-site role within the assigned area.
