Data Governance Consultant (Technology)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to collaborate closely with EADA, GRC, and ISG teams in defining and implementing strong data governance controls. The primary focus of this role is to ensure technical alignment with established data management policies and standards, supporting the organization’s dedication to data integrity and security within the banking and financial services sector. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance and safeguarding sensitive data through effective governance practices.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including EADA, GRC, and ISG, to establish, enforce, and continuously improve data governance controls. Ensure that all governance activities strictly adhere to relevant data management policies and standards, promoting consistency and compliance across the organization. Provide technical guidance and support to align data governance initiatives with broader organizational objectives, ensuring that governance frameworks are practical and effective.

Take ownership of production go-live processes, demonstrating strong project oversight and sound decision-making skills to ensure smooth transitions and minimal risk. Communicate complex data governance concepts clearly and effectively to technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and collaboration across teams. Utilize data governance tools and technologies such as Informatica DEQ, EDC, AXON, or similar platforms to monitor and enhance data quality, security, and privacy controls, ensuring continuous improvement in governance practices.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of six years’ experience in Data Governance, Internal Audit, or Technology Governance within the banking and financial services industry. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related discipline is required. Proficiency in English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

A strong understanding of data privacy, data controls, and data security specific to banking and financial services is critical. Experience working with data governance tools such as Informatica DEQ, EDC, AXON, or equivalent platforms is necessary to manage and monitor governance frameworks effectively. Practical knowledge of data management policies and standards—particularly those related to data security, data migration, and privacy controls—is required to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.

Proven ability to manage production go-live activities with strong project management and decision-making capabilities is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a solid grasp of data management and governance concepts, preferably within the banking industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a self-motivated approach and the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, are also key to success in this role.
