Job Summary
Sindh Community Foundation (SCF), a reputable non-governmental organization headquartered in Hyderabad, Sindh, is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join its team based in Thatta, Pakistan. Established in 2001 and registered under the Societies Act in 2007, SCF is committed to empowering marginalized groups including women, youth, and minorities. The organization focuses on education, health, climate change, youth development, and social justice initiatives. SCF holds special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC and is PCP certified, with multiple regional offices across Sindh. The Civil Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring that all civil engineering projects are designed, planned, and executed efficiently, adhering to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering designs and drawings to facilitate project implementation. They will conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and soil testing as needed to assess project viability. Developing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and technical specifications for construction projects will be a key part of the role. The engineer will supervise construction activities closely to ensure compliance with design plans and quality standards. Reviewing contractor work and verifying quantities for payment processing is essential to maintain project integrity. Coordination with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and other stakeholders will be required to ensure smooth project execution. The role also demands strict adherence to local building codes and environmental regulations throughout all project phases. Preparing progress reports, conducting risk assessments, and providing technical recommendations will support informed decision-making. The Civil Engineer will also contribute technical inputs during procurement processes and participate actively in project meetings, delivering updates to management and project teams.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with a Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering is required, ideally with a background in managing infrastructure projects within non-profit or development sectors. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software is essential, along with a strong understanding of structural analysis and construction materials. Familiarity with both national and international engineering standards is necessary. Excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and report-writing expertise are critical for success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience working in community-focused or development organizations will be considered an advantage. The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from PKR 60,000 to 70,000. This is a full-time role that provides the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to impactful social development projects. The job requires regular field visits and flexibility to work extended hours during peak construction periods. A strong commitment to maintaining safety protocols on-site is mandatory.

The Civil Engineer will report directly to the Executive Director and collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, finance, and field implementation teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
