Job Summary

Reporting to the Planning and Warehousing Lead, this role is pivotal in overseeing supply and capacity planning, scheduling, and procurement to optimize site resources and ensure timely delivery of raw materials and packaging components. The position drives operational improvements, change management, new product launches, and capital projects impacting product supply. Leading a team of schedulers and buyers, the incumbent aligns production plans with inventory policies to maintain optimal stock levels and deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize inventory to meet target levels while avoiding stockouts.
- Lead and actively engage in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) with commercial teams and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).
- Regularly review Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Master Production Schedule (MPS), and ordering parameters to enhance inventory management.
- Monitor capacity utilization and resource planning to boost plant efficiency.
- Ensure material ordering adheres to company policies to support seamless operations.
- Oversee the timely creation and updating of item master data in line with company guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with Planning, Procurement, Quality Control, and Technical departments to synchronize activities with production and financial objectives.
- Develop and manage long-, medium-, and short-term production plans to maximize resource use.
- Communicate effectively in weekly forums addressing local and regional supply chain challenges.
- Maintain high On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance and meet targets for Capable to Promise (CTP), Capable to View (CTV), and Capable to Release (CTR).
- Lead long-term capacity planning (5-10 years), identifying capital expenditure needs and alternatives to address capacity gaps.
- Manage procurement processes, including purchase order processing and supplier liaison, ensuring timely material delivery aligned with production plans.
- Govern departmental performance through KPI monitoring and reviews to prevent supply interruptions.
- Handle timely processing of letters of credit, coordinate with banks, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as the State Bank of Pakistan, Drug Regulatory Authority, Excise and Taxation, and FBR.
- Ensure prompt customs clearance documentation to avoid port storage or detention charges.
- Coordinate with clearing and forwarding agents for smooth import/export shipments and manage cost-effective inbound and outbound transportation.
- Conduct vendor evaluations using KPIs and drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support commercial launches and product transfers through effective procurement and represent the site in regional or external committees related to procurement, ERP, or planning.
- Evaluate and implement SAP system enhancements to maximize automated purchasing efficiency and ensure data accuracy across production and inventory systems.
- Develop and enforce procedures to manage obsolete inventory and implement effective production and inventory control policies.
- Coordinate cross-functional resolution of production plan impediments and escalate supply risks to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality standards, environmental, health, safety policies, and corporate guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet evolving business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related fields; Science graduates with relevant supply chain experience also considered.
- 6-8 years of experience in inventory control, planning, purchasing, and shipping.
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, SAP master data setup, export trade routes, purchasing, shipping, and customs clearance.
- Proficiency in SAP SNP APO and SAP ECC modules.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Customer and patient-focused approach with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Good understanding of customs procedures, including DRAP, WeBoc, and related portals.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage.
- Experience in Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management.
