Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and proactive HSE Manager to lead our Health, Safety & Environment department, overseeing safety operations across both office and field locations. This pivotal role requires managing a team of HSE professionals, developing and enforcing comprehensive safety policies, and ensuring strict compliance with all relevant safety standards throughout drilling and operational activities. The position follows a rotational schedule, with 45 days based in Karachi and 15 days at the field site, demanding flexibility and strong leadership in diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the entire HSE department, including site-based and office-based HSE officers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic HSE plan that aligns with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements, ensuring seamless execution of HSE procedures across all operational areas, particularly drilling operations.
Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs to maintain a highly competent HSE team. Provide strategic HSE leadership and expert advice to senior management and operational teams, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Ensure full compliance with local regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, along with internal HSE policies. Manage HSE audits, conduct thorough risk assessments, and oversee corrective action plans to address any identified gaps.
Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, performing root cause analyses and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence. Promote a proactive safety culture by raising HSE awareness throughout the organization.
Oversee HSE reporting systems, delivering detailed analyses and key performance metrics such as Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) to leadership. Ensure that adequate resources and tools are available to support safe and compliant operations across all functions.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior HSE role, with specific expertise managing drilling operations.
Mandatory certifications include NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, or equivalent credentials. A strong knowledge of HSE legislation, drilling safety practices, emergency response, and hazard control is required. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, ISO Lead Auditor, or similar qualifications are highly desirable.
Proven experience managing distributed HSE teams and coordinating activities across multiple sites is critical for success in this role.

Candidates should possess an in-depth understanding of drilling operations and associated HSE risks. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively manage teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to operate efficiently in challenging and dynamic site environments is required. Strong capabilities in team management, training, and conflict resolution will support the successful delivery of HSE objectives.
Proficiency in HSE software, reporting tools, and MS Office applications is expected.
Compensation & Rotation
The role offers a competitive gross monthly salary ranging from PKR 200,000 to 225,000, with an additional site allowance provided during field rotations. The work schedule follows a rotation of 45 days in Karachi and 15 days on-site, requiring full-time, in-person commitment.
