To provide technical expertise in the development and finalization of Farmer Field School (FFS) curriculum aligned with Group Action Plans (GAPs), and to strengthen the capacity of Field Facilitators through Training of Facilitators (ToF) for effective implementation of FFS activities under the project.
Responsibilities
The consultant will support the project team in designing and standardizing FFS training curricula, manuals, and learning materials relevant to livestock production systems and climate-smart agriculture in Balochistan. The consultant will conduct Training of Facilitators (ToF) sessions using participatory and adult learning methodologies, including Agro-Ecosystem Analysis (AESA), and provide technical guidance to ensure quality implementation of Farmer Field Schools. The assignment also includes mentoring facilitators, monitoring training quality, documenting outcomes, and supporting effective coordination and reporting of FFS activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- · Develop and finalize FFS curriculum and training materials in line with Group Action Plans (GAPs).
- · Conduct Training of Facilitators (ToF) for Field Facilitators using participatory and adult learning approaches.
- · Build the technical and facilitation capacity of Field Facilitators for quality FFS implementation.
- · Ensure effective application of Agro-Ecosystem Analysis (AESA) during FFS sessions.
- · Provide technical guidance on livestock management, husbandry practices, animal health, climate-smart agriculture, value chains, and natural resource management.
- · Conduct mentoring, coaching, and refresher sessions for facilitators and farmer groups.
- · Monitor the quality and effectiveness of FFS sessions and provide recommendations for improvement.
- · Support documentation of best practices, training reports, and lessons learned.
- · Coordinate closely with the project team to ensure timely implementation of planned activities.
- · Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and project standards.
Key Deliverables:
- Finalized FFS curriculum and training modules aligned with GAPs.
- Conducted ToF sessions for Field Facilitators.
- Capacity building and mentoring reports for facilitators.
- Standardized FFS training materials and manuals.
- Field monitoring and technical backstopping reports.
- Final consultancy report including achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations
Consultancy Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Livestock Management, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Food Technology, NRM, or related field
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- AESA, ToF, curriculum development, facilitation, M&E, livestock and NRM expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication and reporting skills communication and reporting skills
- Certificate of long-term FFS training attended
