Junior Accountant

JRA Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate accounting records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role involves preparing reconciliations, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations. The Junior Accountant will work closely with senior team members to support month-end and year-end closing activities and contribute to the preparation of financial reports. This position requires a candidate with at least two years of experience in accounting functions, proficient in bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and handling invoicing and payments. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently without direct team management responsibilities. Responsibilities

Maintain accurate day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping records to ensure financial data integrity.
Prepare bank reconciliations, customer and supplier account reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations regularly.
Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and timely collections.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing necessary documentation and assisting with financial consolidations.
Contribute to the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation to aid senior accountants and management in decision-making.
Support VAT compliance activities by preparing VAT calculations, returns, and ensuring adherence to applicable tax regulations.
Maintain proper accounting documentation, filing, and record-keeping to comply with internal and external audit requirements.
Collaborate with senior accounting staff by assisting in client accounting and reporting assignments to enhance service delivery.
Apply accounting principles and company policies consistently to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial information.
Utilize accounting software and spreadsheet tools to organize financial data and streamline accounting tasks.
