Junior Energy Audit Engineer (Technical)

SGS, the world’s leading Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company, is looking for a hands-on Junior Energy Audit Engineer to join its Energy & Sustainability Services team based in Karachi. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior engineers on energy audits and power quality studies for prominent industrial and commercial clients across Pakistan. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct site surveys and collect data for comprehensive energy audits, focusing on electrical distribution, motors and drives, HVAC and chillers, compressed air systems, boilers and steam, pumping, and lighting systems.
- Install and operate various measurement instruments including power quality analyzers, data loggers, thermal imaging cameras, flue gas analyzers, ultrasonic flow meters, and temperature meters.
- Assist in assessing electrical networks and power quality parameters such as harmonics, power factor, load balance, and voltage variation.
- Analyze load profiles and utility bills to establish energy baselines and identify potential energy-saving opportunities.
- Calculate energy savings, cost reductions, payback periods, and CO₂ emission reductions for proposed energy efficiency measures.
- Prepare technical sections of audit reports, data sheets, and client presentations with accuracy and clarity.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols during all site visits and client interactions.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering from a recognized institute. Professional Engineering Council (PEC) registration is preferred.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in energy auditing, electrical testing, plant utilities, or maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical and thermal systems.
- Practical experience with power quality analyzers (such as Fluke series), thermal imaging cameras, flue gas analyzers, lux meters, and data loggers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Willingness to travel frequently to client sites across Pakistan.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) from AEE, Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP), or ISO 50001 Lead Auditor are advantageous.
