As a Junior Financial Analyst at Vertus Group, you will play a vital role in providing accounting and financial support for a growing global software portfolio. Your responsibilities will include preparing financial reports, analyzing income statements and balance sheets, and supporting the quarter-end close process. You will work closely with the corporate finance team to deliver timely and accurate financial insights that influence key business decisions. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated to contribute to a dynamic finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support monthly financial accounting activities, including journal entries and detailed analysis to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and perform intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist with the consolidation process across portfolio companies, including monthly updates and quarterly revisions of annual financial statements.
- Review business unit reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
- Track and report key performance indicators used by leadership to manage the business.
- Collaborate with finance leaders across the group to understand diverse software business operations.
- Prepare interim and year-end working papers for financial and tax audits.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support management decision-making.

Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (e.g., BBA, BComm).
- 1–2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial reporting experience.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and ad hoc requests professionally.
- Clear and confident communication skills, capable of working with all levels of management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- CPA designation or progress toward certification is a strong asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations is advantageous.
