We are looking for a Product Development Engineer who will thoroughly inspect our Energy Meters and similar products at different stages throughout their life cycle.
- As a Product Development Engineer in our company, you will work with the Engineering & Product Development team to understand why we’re building a product and what the specific requirements are.
- Then, you will organize the development activities, series of tests through all stages of development and production to identify potential malfunctions and recommend improvements.
- Ultimately, you’ll ensure our final products meet our quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Gathering product requirements i.e., functional requirements, WAPDA/NTDC specifications and IEC Standards.
- Discuss the requirements with product development team for better understanding and develop a product which meets all the relevant standards and specifications.
- Develop test programs to validate product performance as described by standards.
- Perform product testing including both Hardware/Software and log test results.
- Analyze and track defects identified in testing.
- Monitor and track the status of test defects until closed.
- Prepare failure analysis report and provide corrective actions.
- Recommend product design revisions based on test data to meet expected performance.
- Planning day to day inspection and testing activities being carried out by NTDC/DISCOs
- Determine resource and equipment needed to conduct testing.
- Develop manual and automated tools to increase test effectiveness.
- Develop best practices to improve testing quality.
- Review technical architecture documents, design documents, and functional requirements to identify any potential defects.
- Maintain accurate documentations for executed test programs.
- Monitor all production stages to ensure all standards are followed
- Run quality controls on components and final products
Requirements
- BSc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Previous experience as a Product Development Engineer or similar role (Min. 2~3 Years)
- Experience of working in Energy Metering Industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with Meter Test Bench, HV/EMC Test Equipment
- Familiarity with WAPDA/NTDC Specifications, IEC Standards and various testing techniques
- Expertise in MS Excel/Office/Project Pro.
- Well conversant individual with excellent communication skills for liaisoning with customers all over the country.
