We are an American company looking to hire a developer for a single project. The project is time sensitive and we expect its completion in 30 days. The ideal candidate will be one who has background working with mapping service development. Additional requirements of the project will be:
- A server must use data from OpenStreetMap.
- When given two coordinates over a REST API, the server should return a route that a car could drive to get from one coordinate to the next.
- This route data must be shown in an interactive map on a web page
- This server must run on a cloud platform (like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Heroku, etc.)
There are no restrictions on the programming languages used as long as the requirements are met. Usage of open source software is OK, and even preferred. No restrictions on cloud platform, but ideally, the cost of running the server on the specified cloud platform should not exceed $160 per month. Preference will given to candidates who have experience in building REST APIs with cloud platforms. A permanent position at the company can be a possibility in the future. Compensation will be paid on an agreed upon figure. We do not pay on hourly bases.
