The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory billing operations by serving as the primary point of contact between provider offices and the billing team. This position involves addressing a variety of billing-related inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely communication to resolve issues related to diagnosis codes, medical necessity, payer eligibility, and documentation. The role requires diligent follow-up with provider offices to clarify and obtain necessary information, facilitating smooth billing workflows and minimizing delays.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with provider offices to clarify diagnosis codes and resolve ICD-10-related issues.
- Address medical necessity concerns by coordinating with providers to ensure compliance with billing requirements.
- Handle inquiries related to payer eligibility and verification to support accurate billing submissions.
- Follow up on missing, incomplete, or invalid diagnosis information to prevent claim denials or delays.
- Coordinate documentation and laboratory order-related clarifications with provider offices.
- Manage various laboratory billing inquiries that require input or clarification from providers.
- Ensure timely resolution of billing-related issues through persistent follow-up and coordination with provider offices.
Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and clearly with provider offices.
- Proven ability to follow up and coordinate effectively to resolve billing issues.
- Solid understanding of laboratory billing workflows and processes.
- Working knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding and the ability to identify diagnosis-related billing issues.
- Familiarity with medical necessity requirements and payer eligibility/verification processes.
- Experience in handling laboratory claims, billing inquiries, and follow-ups.
- Ability to review billing information critically and collaborate with provider offices to obtain necessary clarifications or documentation.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in laboratory billing is preferred.
- Intermediate level of education is preferred.
- The position requires availability to work night shifts.
- Candidates should be able to reliably commute to or plan to relocate to Lahore before starting work.
- This is an in-person role based in Lahore.
