Lab Technician - D.I Khan, KP

Normeca International AS is leading an innovative healthcare initiative in Pakistan through its “Mobile Multi-Diagnostic Clinic / Mini Hospital” project, developed in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (ISDB) and the Government of Pakistan. This project deploys advanced mobile clinics housed in fully-equipped trailers to deliver essential healthcare services directly to communities in the KPK and Sindh regions. These mobile units provide a wide range of diagnostic services and minor surgical procedures, supported by state-of-the-art medical equipment. Additionally, the clinics feature comprehensive facilities such as kitchens, laundry, dining areas, and conference rooms, ensuring comfort and full functionality for both medical teams and patients. Normeca International AS is dedicated to improving healthcare accessibility and delivering high-quality care to underserved rural areas.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests including hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
- Prepare and analyze samples with accuracy and precision to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Accurately record and report test results in a timely manner.
- Adhere to established laboratory protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and protect patients and staff.
- Assist in managing laboratory supplies and inventory control.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret and discuss laboratory findings.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records.
- Stay informed about advancements in laboratory techniques and best practices.
- Support the setup and dismantling of mobile medical units at various locations.

Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid certification as a Laboratory Technician.
- Proven experience working as a Laboratory Technician.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Willingness to work under non-standard conditions in rural settings.
- Proficiency in English is an advantage.
