Laboratory Technician

As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing processes. Your responsibilities will include conducting various tests, maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, and adhering strictly to quality control standards. By meticulously recording data and collaborating with supervisory staff, you will help maintain the reliability of test results and support the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

Sample Testing and Analysis:
Perform a broad range of laboratory tests in accordance with established protocols. Utilize specialized instruments to analyze samples and generate precise, reliable results. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all raw data collected during testing.

Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Quickly identify and resolve any equipment malfunctions or issues.

Quality Assurance:
Enforce strict quality control procedures to guarantee the accuracy and dependability of test outcomes. Monitor laboratory environmental conditions and document relevant data to maintain ideal testing settings. Collaborate closely with the Lab Incharge or Supervisor to address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.

Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain organized and comprehensive records of all laboratory activities, including test results and equipment maintenance logs. Prepare and submit detailed reports in a timely manner to support laboratory management and decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or an equivalent qualification.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience working in a laboratory environment.

Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in laboratory techniques and methodologies is essential. Familiarity with laboratory instruments and software applications is required. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy must be demonstrated. Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Soft Skills:
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors. Capability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to proactively address challenges.
