We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician to join our clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting and processing various biological samples and performing both routine and specialized laboratory tests. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare environment. The position is full-time and based on-site, with shift work including weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process blood, urine, and other body fluid samples accurately and efficiently.
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, including hematology, biochemistry, and microbiology analyses.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Ensure all samples are properly labeled, documented, and handled in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the laboratory, adhering strictly to safety and infection control standards.
- Follow established hospital procedures to guarantee timely and accurate reporting of test results.
- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring and ordering laboratory supplies to prevent shortages.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or an equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of practical experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and quality control measures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and quality assurance standards relevant to laboratory operations.
