Land Connect Group is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounts Officer to join our finance team. The ideal candidate possesses at least one year of relevant experience and a strong foundation in financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, internal controls, and auditing. This role demands proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software such as SAP or Oracle Financials. The Accounts Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the integrity of financial data through meticulous account reconciliation and general ledger management. This position does not involve managing a team, but requires effective collaboration with on-field staff and internal departments to facilitate seamless financial operations. The Accounts Officer handles a variety of critical accounting functions including collecting and managing daily dispatched cargo and vehicle records, accurately recording daily transactions, and updating internal financial systems. The role emphasizes accuracy and timeliness, requiring the candidate to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, verify data for completeness and correctness, and maintain secure backup procedures for all financial documentation. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the financial health and operational efficiency of Land Connect Group by ensuring transparent and compliant accounting practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and collect daily dispatched cargo and vehicle records from on-field personnel to ensure accurate tracking of assets and transactions.
- Keep precise and up-to-date records of all daily financial transactions to support accurate accounting and reporting.
- Prepare detailed balance sheets, financial statements, and various accounting reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Update internal financial systems with accurate and current data to support financial analysis and decision-making.
- Enter customer and account data from source documents within established time limits to maintain data integrity.
- Compile, verify, and sort information accurately to prepare source data for computer entry, ensuring completeness and correctness.
- Review financial data to identify deficiencies or errors, correct discrepancies, and ensure compatibility with accounting standards.
- Reconcile accounts regularly by comparing general ledger entries and supporting documentation to detect and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage the general ledger by posting journal entries, verifying transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and ERP software such as SAP or Oracle Financials to prepare financial reports and analyze financial data efficiently.
- Generate financial reports, store completed work securely in designated locations, and perform regular backup operations to safeguard financial information.
- Assist with internal control and auditing processes by providing accurate records and supporting documentation as required.
- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate the collection of necessary financial data and resolve queries related to accounting transactions.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal standards, and best practices in all accounting activities to maintain operational integrity.
