This full-time, on-site position based in Islamabad offers an opportunity to work as a Language Instructor teaching Urdu and/or English to adult staff members at the U.S. Embassy. The role involves delivering both classroom and virtual instruction, focusing on adult learners to enhance their language proficiency. The instructor will be responsible for administering proficiency tests, tracking learner progress, providing counseling, and developing individualized training plans. Instructional materials aligned with the National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC) standards will be used to ensure consistency and quality in teaching. The work schedule is primarily in the morning, and the salary range is PKR 125,000 to 150,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective language instruction in Urdu and/or English to adult learners through both in-person and virtual platforms.
- Conduct proficiency assessments to evaluate language skills and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and document learner progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
- Provide counseling and support to learners to enhance motivation and address challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized training plans tailored to each learner’s needs and goals.

Required Qualifications

- Proficiency in English at Level III or higher, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications for lesson planning, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Familiarity with InPage software for Urdu instruction to facilitate effective teaching and material preparation.
