Lead Devops Engineer

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, and deployment efforts while actively engaging in client-facing technical discussions. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strong hands-on DevOps expertise and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will collaborate closely with engineering and business development teams to understand client needs, define technical solutions, and support pre-sales and solutioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Manage cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and release workflows.
- Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues, performing root-cause analysis.
- Enhance scalability, reliability, security, and performance of cloud environments.
- Analyze cloud infrastructure and workloads to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or security.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization including compute, storage, databases, networking, Kubernetes workloads, and reserved or committed resources.
- Monitor and manage cloud spending, identify underutilized resources, and recommend cost-optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with clients to assess existing cloud infrastructure and propose cost-efficient architecture and deployment approaches.
- Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, secrets management, access controls, and secure deployment processes.
- Work closely with software engineers, architects, QA, security, and product teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps and engineering team members.
- Participate in client discovery meetings and technical discussions with international clients.
- Understand client requirements, technical challenges, infrastructure environments, and business objectives.
- Recommend appropriate cloud, DevOps, infrastructure, and deployment solutions.
- Support technical proposals, solution architecture, project scoping, effort estimation, and timelines.
- Present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to support opportunity qualification and project handover.

Required Qualifications

- 5 to 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related fields.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or ELK/EFK stacks.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and secure deployment practices.
- Experience working with microservices and cloud-native architectures.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in cloud cost management and optimization across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of cloud pricing models, resource utilization, autoscaling, rightsizing, and cost-efficient architecture.

Client-Facing Skills

- Experience working directly with international clients in a technical capacity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct technical discovery and requirement-gathering sessions.
- Capability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Confidence in presenting technical concepts and architecture to clients.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience supporting technical pre-sales, solution consulting, or client solutioning is preferred.
- Ability to explain cloud infrastructure costs, optimization opportunities, and technical trade-offs clearly and practically.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with managed Kubernetes services such as AWS EKS, Azure AKS, or Google GKE.
- Knowledge of GitOps practices.
- Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Proficiency with cloud cost-management tools like AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Trusted Advisor, Azure Cost Management, or Google Cloud Billing.
- Experience implementing FinOps or cloud cost-governance frameworks.
- Relevant certifications from AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Previous involvement in technical proposals or pre-sales activities.
