Lead Editor

Zealancy is seeking a skilled Video Editor with expertise in storytelling, motion design, and AI visual generation to join their Fulfillment/Post-Production team onsite in Karachi. This full-time role involves transforming raw footage and creative concepts into compelling, high-retention YouTube content, primarily focusing on documentary-style, talking-head, creator-led, and long-form videos. Candidates will be evaluated based on their portfolio, editing judgment, storytelling ability, technical skills, and trial performance rather than traditional job titles. The position requires a deep understanding of why edits work, how pacing, visuals, sound, motion graphics, and AI-generated visuals combine to enhance storytelling, and the ability to deliver engaging content within deadlines. Working hours are from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with compensation ranging from PKR 45,000 to 120,000+ per month, depending on experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage to final delivery with a focus on storytelling and pacing.
- Develop strong intros and hooks that capture curiosity and maintain viewer attention.
- Structure videos to maximize viewer retention through effective pacing and narrative flow.
- Create and integrate motion graphics, typography, animations, and visual effects seamlessly.
- Use B-roll, graphics, screenshots, stock footage, music, and sound effects purposefully to support the story.
- Generate and incorporate AI visuals using tools like Higgsfield AI to enhance storytelling and creative sequences.
- Combine AI-generated visuals with traditional editing and motion design to maintain visual consistency.
- Apply basic color correction and grading as needed.
- Translate scripts, dialogue, and creative concepts into engaging visual sequences.
- Accurately replicate editing styles based on references without direct copying.
- Apply basic graphic design and layout principles when creating visual assets.
- Manage revisions professionally and efficiently.
- Take ownership of projects and communicate any blockers early.
- Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects with strong motion design and animation skills.
- Solid understanding of pacing, rhythm, sound design, visual composition, typography, and layout.
- Experience with basic color correction and grading techniques.
- Strong ability to select and use B-roll effectively for visual storytelling.
- Excellent project organization and asset management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine editing and workflow issues independently.
- Hands-on experience with AI visual generation and AI-assisted creative workflows, including familiarity with Higgsfield AI or similar platforms.
- Skilled at generating, refining, and integrating AI visuals while maintaining visual consistency, realism, and quality.
- Strong English comprehension, especially for working with English-language scripts.
- Understanding of YouTube storytelling, viewer retention strategies, and modern creator-led editing styles.
- Ability to analyze and explain why specific editing decisions work.
- Capability to translate scripts and abstract ideas into AI-assisted visual sequences.
