Lead I - Enterprise Solutions (SAP ABAP)

MassMutual’s Corporate Technology organization is seeking a highly skilled SAP S/4HANA ABAP Developer with strong integration experience to join the Finance/Actuarial/Investment team. This role supports a multi-year initiative to migrate from ECC to the S/4HANA Finance application suite. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ABAP development and integration design across multiple SAP implementations. A solid understanding of SAP implementation methodologies, S/4HANA ABAP development, and integration strategies involving both internal and external systems is essential. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, in-depth knowledge of SAP Finance modules, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop inbound and outbound SAP interfaces to support seamless system integration.
- Develop ABAP programs, custom objects, and Core Data Services (CDS) views within the S/4HANA environment.
- Create optimized CDS views tailored for frontend reporting using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Analysis Office.
- Utilize experience with BW Data Load Layer (DLL), Business Data Cloud (BDC), and SAP Datasphere to enhance data processing and integration.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams and architects to establish best practices for ABAP design and integration strategies.
- Partner with functional owners, finance business partners, technical leads, and architects to develop dynamic, flexible solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Conduct defect analysis, debug ABAP programs, and implement necessary fixes and enhancements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all development activities comply with established programming and documentation standards.
- Deliver high-performance integrations and applications that support the S/4HANA Finance implementation.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP implementations, with a focus on integration and interface development.
- Proven expertise in ABAP program development within S/4HANA environments.
- Strong experience in ABAP CDS view development.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori design principles.
- Experience with event-driven integrations and service-oriented architecture, including OData services.
- Ability to create and understand technical specifications and perform unit testing.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and drive technical solutions independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant technical work experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud and its integration with SAP reporting tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of BW Process Chains is advantageous.
- Familiarity with SAP Financial Product Subledger (FPSL) and Financial Services, including CFO functions, is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Highly organized with strong documentation skills.
