The Assistant General Manager - Corporate Communications at Hyderabad Airport is responsible for safeguarding and elevating the airport’s brand reputation through strategic media relations, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, and crisis management. This role focuses on crafting impactful stories, managing media networks, monitoring public sentiment, and delivering communication strategies that align with business goals. The position plays a crucial part in enhancing organizational credibility and visibility across multiple platforms while supporting sustainability and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for Hyderabad Airport and its subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with overall brand objectives.
- Build and maintain a story bank to support consistent and effective media engagement.
- Lead targeted communication campaigns emphasizing brand perception, passenger experience, technology adoption, business growth, and sustainability.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather insights and create compelling narratives.
- Identify and engage key media outlets and platforms to maximize audience reach and engagement.
- Organize media events such as press conferences, media visits, familiarization (FAM) trips, and media dinners to foster strong media relations.
- Drive brand advocacy for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives through strategic media campaigns and partnerships with industry associations.
- Manage content calendars and oversee the creation of press releases, articles, op-eds, and blogs to ensure consistent messaging.
- Collaborate with executives and department heads to align media narratives with organizational priorities and attend industry events to expand media networks.
- Maintain and update media databases, story banks, and conduct regular media analysis, including competitor mapping and news sentiment reports.
- Implement crisis communication plans to mitigate reputational risks, ensuring timely and accurate media responses during incidents.
- Build and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and influencers to enhance media engagement and secure positive coverage.
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing actionable insights to support proactive reputation management.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism, Media Communication, Marketing, or Public Relations from a reputed institute.
- Approximately 12-15 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations agencies, or national media organizations.
- Proven proficiency in agency management, internal and external communication strategy, brand advocacy, media relations, public relations, reputation management, and content creation.
- Strong networking skills, personal effectiveness, teamwork, stakeholder focus, and strategic orientation.
- Experience in planning, decision-making, execution, and delivering measurable results.
- Ability to analyze problems and think critically to develop effective communication solutions.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Details
- Proficiency in Telugu language is desirable.
- Experience managing a small team (2-3 members).
- Exposure to aviation or airport communications will be an advantage.
