Lead Proposal

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Proposal professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical equipment manufacturing, with expertise in tendering, technical proposal development, and cost estimation. This role focuses primarily on boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other static process equipment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing competitive and technically compliant bids, working closely with multiple departments to ensure accuracy and quality throughout the proposal process.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals in response to RFQs and tenders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Review tender documents, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to fully understand project requirements.
- Prepare and validate detailed cost estimates covering all aspects of manufacturing, including materials, fabrication, welding, machining, testing, and inspection.
- Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, Procurement, QA/QC, and Sales/Marketing teams to develop technically compliant and commercially competitive bids.
- Evaluate and apply relevant codes and standards such as ASME BPVC, TEMA, and other industry specifications to ensure compliance.
- Manage pre-bid and post-bid clarifications, identify technical and commercial risks, and contribute to the development of bid strategies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to proposal team members, helping improve estimation accuracy, costing systems, and overall proposal quality.
- Facilitate the smooth handover of approved cost estimates and related documentation to Project Management following contract award.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in proposals, tendering, estimation, or costing within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and static process equipment.
- Working knowledge of ASME codes, material specifications, fabrication processes, and inspection requirements.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, verifying BOQs, and performing detailed cost estimation.
- Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, coordination, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
