UserWise is looking for a Lead QA Engineer to join our Live Operations team supporting a major international publisher. This hands-on leadership role involves guiding a team of QA engineers, developing and implementing effective testing strategies, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of software testing methodologies. You will be actively involved in QA activities while driving continuous improvement within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture centered on quality and continuous improvement. You will assign tasks, prioritize workloads, and allocate resources to meet project deadlines. Conducting performance reviews and supporting the professional development of team members will be key aspects of this role.
Game Testing: Play and test games at various stages of development to identify and document bugs, glitches, and other issues. Execute detailed test cases and analyze results to ensure the highest product quality.
Bug Reporting: Report bugs and issues clearly and concisely. Work closely with developers to reproduce problems and facilitate timely resolution.
Test Planning and Design: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and cases aligned with game requirements. Design and manage test environments for functional, regression, and performance testing.
Collaboration: Partner with developers and project managers to understand game features and mechanics. Provide actionable feedback and suggestions for game improvements based on testing outcomes.
Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test procedures, results, and issues encountered. Keep records of testing activities and progress up to date.
Google Play/App Store/Discord Reviews: Monitor store reviews and player feedback on Discord, highlighting critical insights to management.
Analytics/Product Health: Validate design analytics and monitor product health daily by reviewing crash logs and key performance indicators.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and industry trends. Actively participate in QA team meetings to enhance QA processes.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 7 years of QA experience. Strong programming skills in Python or Java are essential. Proficiency with tools such as Postman, Jira, BrowserStack, and GitHub CI/CD pipelines is expected. Experience with A/B testing and analytics validation is necessary. The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. A deep knowledge of the game development lifecycle and proven experience leading QA teams are also required.
