UserWise is looking for a Lead QA Engineer to join our dynamic Live Operations team supporting a major international publisher. In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide a team of QA engineers, develop and implement robust testing strategies, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. This position demands a strong technical foundation, excellent leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of software testing methodologies within the gaming industry.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture focused on quality and continuous improvement. Assign tasks, prioritize workloads, and manage resources to meet project deadlines. Conduct performance evaluations and support the professional growth of team members.
Game Testing: Actively participate in playing and testing games at various development stages to identify bugs, glitches, and other issues. Execute detailed test cases and analyze outcomes to ensure product stability.
Bug Reporting: Document bugs and issues clearly and concisely. Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce problems and assist in their resolution.
Test Planning and Design: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases aligned with game requirements. Design and maintain test environments for functional, regression, performance, and other testing types.
Collaboration: Work alongside developers and project managers to understand game features and mechanics. Provide actionable feedback and suggestions for game improvements based on testing insights.
Documentation: Maintain thorough records of test procedures, results, and encountered issues. Ensure documentation is current and accessible for the team.
Google Play/App Store/Discord Reviews: Monitor store reviews and player feedback on Discord, highlighting critical insights to management.
Analytics/Product Health: Validate design analytics and monitor product health by reviewing crash logs and key performance indicators daily.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest testing methodologies, tools, and industry trends. Actively participate in QA team meetings to enhance QA processes continuously.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in QA with strong programming skills in Python or Java.
- Proficiency with tools such as Postman, Jira, BrowserStack, and GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with A/B testing and analytics validation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Solid understanding of the game development lifecycle and proven experience leading QA teams.
