Leather Fair seeks an experienced Import & Export Manager to oversee all aspects of international trade operations and logistics. This role requires expertise in international trade compliance, freight forwarding, and shipping documentation to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods across borders. The manager collaborates closely with the production team to align order processing with shipping schedules, maintaining seamless operations from manufacturing to delivery. With a minimum of five years of experience, the candidate will lead a dedicated team of two, fostering coordination and efficiency in all import and export activities.
The Import & Export Manager drives compliance with international trade regulations and manages relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers. The role involves careful documentation management, utilizing trade document management software to maintain accurate records and support audits. By optimizing logistics and coordinating shipments, the manager enhances the companys supply chain effectiveness, ensuring customer satisfaction and regulatory adherence. Leading the team, the manager provides guidance, resolves challenges, and implements improvements to meet the dynamic demands of global trade.
Responsibilities
- Manage all import and export operations ensuring compliance with international trade laws and company policies.
- Coordinate with the production team to schedule and process orders accurately and punctually.
- Supervise and lead a team of two staff members, providing training, support, and performance management.
- Oversee logistics management including freight forwarding, shipping, and customs clearance procedures.
- Maintain and organize all shipping documentation and trade-related records using document management software.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
- Monitor changes in trade regulations and ensure company compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Resolve issues related to shipment delays, customs holds, or documentation discrepancies.
- Prepare reports on import/export activities, inventory levels, and performance metrics for senior management.
- Identify risks and implement measures to mitigate disruptions in international supply chains.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with carriers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
