Lecturer IT

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lecturer in Information Technology to join the faculty of our Law College, affiliated with the University of the Punjab. This position offers a unique blend of academic teaching and technical management, focusing on delivering specialized IT courses tailored for LL.B. students. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the college’s IT infrastructure and computer laboratory. This role is vital in integrating technology with legal education and ensuring a seamless digital learning environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Delivery: Teach IT-related subjects and legal informatics courses to LL.B. students, ensuring alignment with the University of the Punjab curriculum and academic standards.

Lab Management: Oversee the daily operations of the college’s IT laboratory, maintaining security, functionality, and a safe learning environment for students.

Hardware & Software Support: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades on all laboratory equipment, including computers, servers, printers, and network systems, to guarantee optimal performance.

Student Guidance: Assist law students in utilizing legal research databases effectively, enhance their digital literacy skills, and support their academic IT requirements.

Inventory Control: Keep accurate records of all IT assets and equipment, monitor usage, and manage resources to ensure availability and accountability.

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a Master’s degree or a 4-year Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline is required.

Skills: Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in basic computing, legal research tools, and network troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills are essential to engage effectively with students and faculty members.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Prior experience in university-level teaching and/or hands-on experience in IT systems administration and hardware maintenance is highly desirable. Such experience will enable the candidate to balance academic responsibilities with technical support efficiently. The position offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 80,000. This role requires the candidate to work on-site at the college premises.
