Job Description:
Facilitate the successful development of titles shortlisted for publishing into published works.
Please note: this role is only suitable for individuals who are voracious and avid readers of books in the English language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proofreading manuscripts and titles shortlisted for publishing
- Ascertaining that the file going into printing is error-free (this includes thoroughly checking all inner and outer text such as and not limited to Index, Notes, Bibliography, Cover etc.)
- Liaising with the editorial team to achieve the shared goal of developing error-free published works
- Reading and formally reviewing manuscripts (non-fiction and fiction) to aid editorial team in shortlisting titles
Requirement:
- A minimum of a university level qualification in a reading-intensive discipline (e.g. Humanities, Social Sciences)
- High written and verbal intelligence
- Strong knowledge of grammar rules
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office
