The Librarian position at MITE is a full-time, on-site role located in the Karachi Division. This role involves managing the daily operations of the library, including cataloging and organizing resources, maintaining accurate metadata, and overseeing circulation and reference services. The Librarian will provide instructional support and research assistance to students and faculty, develop user-friendly guides and workshops, and promote the effective use of library resources. Additionally, the Librarian will contribute to collection development, implement library policies and systems, and collaborate closely with academic departments to ensure library services align with the institution’s goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day library operations, including cataloging, organizing resources, and maintaining metadata accuracy.
- Oversee circulation and reference services to support library users effectively.
- Provide library instruction and research support to students and faculty through orientations, workshops, and one-on-one assistance.
- Develop user-friendly guides and instructional materials to enhance resource accessibility and usage.
- Contribute to collection development by evaluating and recommending new materials aligned with academic needs.
- Implement and enforce library policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with academic departments to integrate library services with curriculum and research objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks with strong organizational skills.

Required Qualifications
- Degree in Library and Information Science or a related field.
- Strong expertise in Library Science and Library Management, including cataloging, organizing collections, and managing circulation systems.
- Experience in delivering library services and instruction, supporting diverse user groups with research guidance and orientations.
- Proficiency in metadata standards and related practices to ensure resource discoverability and integration with library systems.
- Skilled in using library management software, digital cataloging tools, and online research databases.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and staff.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
